The Boston Palestinian Film Festival Comes to UMass Amherst
Screening the award winning documentary film by Matthew Solomon
SEEDS for Liberation
Film Synopsis
"Seeds for Liberation" explores Palestinian resistance through emotional and impactful interviews with historians, activists, and experts. The film shows how social media has exposed daily life in Gaza and the West Bank, challenging dominant Western narratives. It highlights a transnational, anti-imperialist struggle rooted in solidarity and collective justice.
In this new documentary from Director Matthew Solomon and Executive Producer Donna Hadjikhani of “Reimagining Safety,” joined by Executive Producer Alana Hadid, experts discuss the impact of Palestine’s 77-year occupation by Israeli forces, the role social media has played in mobilizing global support, and provide a roadmap for collective liberation.
The film includes impactful and emotional interviews with legal scholars, activists, and members of The Black Liberation Army, La Raza Unida, and the Stop Cop City movement who illustrate the effects of Israeli and U.S. imperialism and colonialism, what “Free Palestine” means, and how it can be achieved.

LIBERATION IS A SHARED STRUGGLE
THANK YOU !
Soul of Gaza Fundraiser.....
Was a great success! Another example of our community’s capacity to come together with collective resolve for healing and liberation.
Thanks to our well over 100 donations from the Apartheid-Free Community and beyond, the Soul of Gaza surpassed our $10,000 goal.
Thanks to Trapock Center for Peace and Justice, these funds were immediately dispersed to our supporting Western MA economy, including First Churches of Northampton, and to a local Palestinian owned catering business. Now 100% of proceeds are going to displaced Gazan families living in tents, in bombed out neighborhoods in Gaza, and to women seeking medical treatment in Egypt for illnesses inflicted by the Zionist entity’s targeting of the very fabric of life and the soul of humanity.
It is with our greatest heart felt appreciation and love for our Western MA community that stands up for dignity and respect for all people, and opposes apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide in all its forms, that we say THANK YOU! May Peace and Blessing be with us, may Palestine be Free.
Sincerely - Apartheid-Free Community
This universal moral code is tragically unmet in the reality faced by the Palestinian people. For decades, they have endured Israeli settler colonialism and occupation; a system of oppression enforced through racist and discriminatory legal regimes, forced displacement, blockades and movement restrictions, and systematic human rights abuses.
These ongoing injustices, constitute the Crime of Apartheid, according to the international human rights community, and are the historical factors that lead to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. These crimes against humanity must end. Therefore;
We commit to ending apartheid everywhere and in so doing we foster more resilient, and inclusive communities. We create a local environment where hate is actively challenged by pledging to oppose all forms of discrimination, including antisemitism and Islamophobia. We are building a world free from apartheid, starting with concrete action in our own communities: workplaces, faith congregations, and municipalities.
Apartheid-Free Western MA (AFWMA) is our local branch of the Apartheid-Free Community Coalition. We work throughout Western MA to build safe community networks of resilience and join others to end all support to Israel’s regime of apartheid.
We invite individuals, businesses and organizations to sign the Apartheid-Free Community Pledge to dismantle injustice and apartheid here at home and abroad.
